If you've been keeping up with developments, you know that the administrators and moderators at susan-boyle.com make a habit of stabbing their members in the back. Some of the the nicest and most innocuous people have been the targets of vicious attacks. Even my hardened soul was shocked at talk of punching a sweet lady in the face for nothing more than having the "wrong" opinion. But they've gone beyond mere fantasies of violent retaliation and have found devious ways to make the people they're pissed at suffer.
How? One way is with the "Miserable User Modification." When they decide that they don't like something a member has posted they can use this modification to make it hard for them to get onto the site. The victim never has a clue that she has been singled out for harassment. What an underhanded thing to do to loyal fans.

Miserable Users Hack...

Meanwhile, while researching the 20+ mods for upgraded versions I stumbled on this.
vBulletin 4.0 Version The ever popular "Miserable Users" modification.
This has been around for 5+ years, and requested on each vb version upgrade.
Basically a way to really annoy anyone you don't want visiting your forum.
When classed as miserable, a member suffers ;
1. Slow response (time delay) on every page (20 to 60 seconds default).
2. A chance they will get the "server busy" message (50% by default).
3. A chance they will get redirected to another preset page (25% & homepage by default).
4. A chance they will simply get a blank page (25% by default).
If they get past all this okay, then they will be served up their proper page.
Note: All the above are set in vBulletin Options > Miserable Users.

No one is going to know unless (a) You tell them, or (b) they know about this mod and guess (and then they still wont actually know unless you tell them)
It's great to have the facility to 'punish' people like him without having to ban them. The only shame is that I'll never see his face when he finally realises that he's the only one having problems accessing my forum
Edited to add : I am willing to stay up late tonight to place it in this version to try out on MonkeyTech for opening up old wounds for no reason other than trouble-making.. Just say the word Kalua
